Title
De Vlaamsche volkseeuw: Vlaamsch nationaal demokratisch weekblad
Description
*De Vlaamsche volkseeuw* was a weekly newspaper founded by Gustaaf Doussy. The articles in the first year mainly covered election results and the bourgeoisie around Kortrijk and Moeskroen. In 1933, the Vlaamsch-Nationale Demokratische Partij was founded and *De Vlaamsche volkseeuw* became its party paper. The newspaper became strongly Flemish-nationalist. ‘Godsvrede’ (truce between oppositional parties in order to work toward a common higher goal) and a Greater Netherlands state were recurring topics. The motto of the newspaper was: “Verdraagzaamheid onze vlag - Waarheid ons wapen - Rechtvaardigheid ons doel” ("Tolerance our flag - Truth our weapon - Justice our goal"). During the 1936 elections, the party received few votes, which also caused *De Vlaamsche volkseeuw* to cease publication.
