*De arbeider der voedingsnijverheid* was a union journal for workers of the food and agricultural industries. Under the motto “Geene rechten zonder plichten. Geene plichten zonder rechten” (“No rights without duties. No duties without rights”), the paper was mainly concerned with workers’ needs and calls for better working conditions. *De arbeider der voedingsnijverheid* published about union victories and demonstrations throughout Flanders and Brussels. Each issue also had a foreign section discussing new working conditions or new tariff agreements in the sector.
