Title
De volksstem: weekblad van de socialistische propagandaclubs van Ledeberg en Gentbrugge
Description
*De volksstem* was a newspaper published for socialist supporters in Gentbrugge and Ledeberg. Daily news as well as news of new merchants, cultural events, and birth, death and marriage announcements in both municipalities were published with each issue. Since *De volksstem* was a political and socialist newspaper, it also reported on the town council. Emiel Van Sweden, along with other socialists from Ledeberg, founded the paper. Van Sweden worked for a socialist movement in Ghent and during his time as editor-in-chief of *De volksstem* he was a socialist alderman in Gentbrugge.
